Acceptable Use Policy

UrlsTree lets people publish a public page of links. This policy sets out what may and may not appear on those pages, how we enforce it, and how to report a page that breaks the rules. It applies to every account, free and paid, and forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited content and links

You may not use UrlsTree to host, publish, or link to any of the following. This applies both to content on your page and to the destination of any link, short link, or embed you add:

• Illegal content, or content that facilitates illegal activity
• Phishing pages, malware, ransomware, or anything designed to compromise a visitor's device or accounts
• Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading offers, including fake stores, fake giveaways, and investment or cryptocurrency scams
• Child sexual abuse material, or any sexual content involving minors — this results in immediate removal and referral to the relevant authorities
• Pornographic and adult content
• Content that harasses, threatens, defames, or incites violence against a person or group
• Hate speech, or content promoting terrorism or violent extremism
• Impersonation of another person, business, or organization
• Sale of regulated or restricted goods, including weapons, illegal drugs, prescription medication, counterfeit goods, and stolen data or credentials
• Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
• Personal or private information about someone else published without their consent
• Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, or use of the email-capture feature to collect addresses under false pretences
• Links that deceive visitors about where they lead, including cloaked or misrepresented destinations
• Attempts to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to UrlsTree's systems or another user's account

2. How we enforce this

We moderate in three ways, and all three are active on every account:

• Automated screening. Usernames are checked against a blocklist at signup, and links are checked against a list of blocked domains — including known adult and high-risk hosts — when they are added or edited. Blocked entries are rejected outright.
• Visitor warnings. Links that a page owner marks as sensitive are served behind an interstitial that a visitor must confirm before continuing, rather than redirecting them straight through.
• Human review. We review reported pages ourselves. We can suspend an account, which immediately stops its public page and all its links from resolving, and we can delete an account entirely.

3. Consequences of a violation

We may remove specific content, suspend an account, or terminate it, depending on the severity and whether it has happened before. Where it is reasonable to do so we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Content that presents a legal, safety, or security risk — phishing, malware, and child sexual abuse material in particular — is removed immediately and without notice.

Suspension stops your public page from resolving but does not delete your data, and we can reverse it if a page was suspended in error. A paid subscription that is terminated for a violation of this policy is not refunded.

4. Reporting abuse

If you find a UrlsTree page that breaks this policy, email [email protected] with the page address and a short description of the problem. Reports about phishing, malware, or content involving minors are treated as urgent and actioned as quickly as we can. You do not need a UrlsTree account to report a page.

If you believe content on a page infringes your copyright or trademark, email the same address with the page address, a description of the work, and confirmation that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act for them.

5. Responsibility for linked destinations

A UrlsTree page points to destinations we do not control and which can change after a link is added. You are responsible for the links on your page and for making sure they continue to comply with this policy. We act on links that are reported to us or that our automated screening catches, but we do not continuously monitor every destination on the internet.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and the risks around it change, and we will update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
